A glimpse into your own financial future — now brought to life

Xtrackers by DWS, a leading provider of Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), presents an innovative installation at Frankfurt Airport that allows visitors to meet their “future self.” The activation is a highlight of the rebranding and the accompanying “Together we grow” campaign by Xtrackers by DWS, which aims to introduce the importance of personal investing to a broader audience in a playful and engaging way.

Experience the future. Rethink financial planning.

Departing, arriving, and connecting passengers are invited to take part in a unique, interactive experience. The custom-built “time machine” — an AI-driven augmented reality concept — allows visitors to age in real time and see a visualization of their future selves. In a playful and engaging way, the installation creates a connection to the topic of personal financial planning.

Airport installation

At Frankfurt Airport, Xtrackers came to life through an interactive installation. Departing, arriving, and connecting passengers were able to encounter their future selves, aged 30 years, using a custom-built, AI-powered “time machine.” The immersive augmented reality experience combined entertainment with relevance, playfully prompting reflection on personal financial planning. What was once waiting time became a personal moment of the future — emotional, surprising, and with lasting impact.

For one month, visitors to the pop-up stand were able to face their future selves — aged 30 years through AI — at two interactive stations. At the same time, they were prompted to reflect on whether they had already considered their own financial future. Visitors could have the video recording sent to them by email and share it directly on social media.

In addition, guests could print a postcard and send greetings from the future to family and friends. The stand also featured multiple information points on ETFs, saving, and investing. Trained promoters guided visitors through the time-travel experience and were available to answer basic questions about Xtrackers and ETFs.
